Missa Brevis

We are pleased to announce that Mr Vartan Agopian has composed a new choral work, a Missa Brevis (i.e. “short mass”) for choir, organ and chamber ensemble. This is a great undertaking and we are honored to have this new composition in Lebanon!

The Missa Brevis will be performed by the combined forces of selected singers from the CTI Cantores, as well as the ACS school. The mass will be given at the Assembly Hall, AUB on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:30 pm.

In accordance with the governmental decision, there will be no class sessions on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, in observance of the death of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri.

Therefore, after our midyear break, we resume classes on the morning of Wednesday, February 15, 2012.

 

To the parents of the students of grades 1-6:

·         A reminder:

o  Thursday, February 9, 2012 is St. Maroun’s Day, a holiday.

o  Monday, February 13, 212 is our midyear break. There will be no class sessions for the whole school.

·         Also, because of our midyear exams for grades 7-11, class sessions will finish at 1:00 on Wednesday, February 8 and Friday, February 10, 2012. All buses will leave at that time. If you pick up your children, kindly do so at 1:00.

·         Because of our midyear exams, all extra curricular-activities will be suspended until Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

 

To the parents of the students of KGII

Because of our midyear exams for grades 7-11, there will be modifications on the KGII program:

·         Class sessions will be over at 1:00 for the whole school (Grade 12 excepted) on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Buses will leave at that time. If you pick up your children, kindly do so at 1:00.

·         Class sessions will also end at 1:00 on Friday, February 10, 2012. Buses will leave at that time. If you pick up your children, kindly do so at 1:00.

·         There will be no extra-curricular activities because of our midyear exams. Activities resume on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

·         Reminder:

Prophet's Birthday

The holiday for the Prophet's Birthday has been assigned for Saturday, February 4, 2012. Best wishes!

 

Our Christmas vacation starts on the morning of December 24, 2011 and ends on the morning of Tuesday, January 3, 2012. There will be regular class sessions on January 3, 4, and 5, 2012.

Friday, January 6, 2012, is also an official holiday, celebrating Armenian Christmas and Epiphany.

Regarding the possible strike on Thursday, December 15, 2011: Kindly listen to the news broadcasts. In case of strike, school is closed on that day.

The CTI Cantores will be giving a Christmas Celebration concert on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 7:00 at the National Evangelical Church, Beirut (facing the Governmental Serail). It promises to be a great evening. So, for the Christmas spirit and cheer, mark the date on your agendas.

As formally announced, Ashoura falls on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. There will be no class sessions at the CTI on this day.

 

There will be no class sessions on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in observance of Independence Day.

Based on the decision of the Ministry of Education, there will be no class sessions at the CTI on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 7, 8 and 9, 2011 in observance of al-Adha. Best wishes!

 

Possible strike on Wednesday, Oct 19, 2011:

As matters stand, the CTI is open whether there is a strike or not. We are not closed, whether the teachers go on strike or not in the country.

But kindly read the following:

  • In case schools are open and teachers call off the strike (no teachers strike): classes will go on as usual for the whole school.
  • In case schools are open and teachers do not call off the strike (teachers are still on strike): The CTI administration is open, but there are lessons for select classes only (the students know). There will be no lessons, other than those classes that were told to come.

Kindly follow the news, since the matter is beyond us. Do not call.

Monday, September 12, 2011: First day for grades 9 and 12 (no bus)

Tuesday, September 27, 2011:  First day for grades 7 and 8 (1/2 day – no bus)

Wednesday, September 28, 2011: First day for grades 1-6 (Full day-return bus only)

Thursday, September 29, 2011: Regular school day for all classes (Full bus)

Kindergarten Schedule:

Monday, September 26, 2011:

                                Lower KG: First day of play school with parents for two hours.

                                Check in September

Tuesday, September 27, 2011:

                                KG1: First day of school (8:00 to 12:00 – no bus)

                                LKG: Second day of playschool with parents for two hours.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011:

                               KG2: First day of school. LKG and KG1: 8:00 to 1:00.
